Dura Tungsten  Bands

Chisel Dura Tungsten bands are created by adding titanium to the tungsten

composition, making the ring 27% lighter and less brittle while still remaining

scratch and tarnish proof.  The Dura Tungsten band was developed in 2006.

Patent was pending USPTO 12,141,791 was granted and published in

December 2009 worldwide.  Unlike titanium, there are no “grades” of Tungsten.

The tungsten rings we sell are Dura Tungsten  and are, to date, the hardest

substance used in making rings. Tungsten carbide bands are a natural choice

for men who want a resilient metal that shows little signs of wear.  Why should

you consider Dura Tungsten as your choice for tungsten wedding bands?

Chisel Dura Tungsten bands requires little care. These Wedding Bands are

Semi-Comfort-Fit design for easy of use.  Rubbing with any clean cloth will

restore the original bright finish for decades to come.   Note: Buyer beware for

copies of Chisel style wedding bands on the market.  

The formula we use for Dura Tungsten Bands are as followed:

Tungsten 45%

Titanium 20%

Chromium 2% for shine

Nickel 20% for color

7% carbon

6% Molybdenum

Traces of Iron and Cobalt as binders. 

Titanium Bands

Titanium is a superior metal for jewelry simply because it will never tarnish, and

it is 100% compatible with the human body, not producing allergic reactions,

skin irritations or discoloration of any sort, making it the ideal metal for those

with sensitive skin (Chisel Titanium Wedding Bands are Semi-Comfort-fit).

This is true for all grades of titanium.  We work primarily with Ti-6/4 Aircraft

Grade Titanium.  It has a much greater hardness than the basic grade

(CP4 – Commercial Pure Titanium, grade 4) titanium, not to mention

traditional jewelry metals.  The other grade (Ti-6/6/2 – Extra-hard titanium) is

also used.

Ceramic Rings & Watches

Ceramic rings and watches have the same basic hardness and durability as the

Tungsten rings and both have a greater hardness than Titanium.  This does not

mean they will never exhibit wear and tear at some point.  It simply means they

are a durable and long lasting item, under normal wear (Chisel Ceramic

Wedding Bands are Semi Comfort-fit bands).  Ceramic metal is far beyond

anything like the heated glass of ceramic glass, although it is the same basic

process.  This ceramic is used in things like the new F-22 Raptor Attack jet,

the ATF (Advanced Tactical Fighter) and on the space station.  Titanium

and Stainless Steel are softer metals and they will scratch and show signs of

wear with time.  This wear is not a defect in manufacturing.

Stainless Steel

316L Stainless, "L" stands for Low Carbon.  If any class of steel truly deserves to 

be called surgical stainless steel, it is these "L" class derivatives of 316 steel. It never

developes surface rust and is even resistant to constant salt water exposure.

It is easily personalized with your engraved sentiment.  Titanium and Stainless Steel

are softer metals and they will scratch and show signs of wear with time. This wear

is not a defect in manufacturing. 


IP PLATING      Many items in this jewelry collection have been plated in colors such

as gold, black, rose, and chocolate brown. This IP plating is a specialized process

which fuses the color to the base metal in a vacuum environment.  The IP plating

actually becomes a part of the metal, ensuring a hard, durable finish and beautify

that will last.  These wedding bands are also Semi-Comfort fit.  

COBALT CHROMIUM BANDS

Cobalt Chromium Rings and Wedding Bands offer a new element to the alternative

metal industry.  Its platinum-look differentiates it from both tungsten and titanium.

Cobalt is very scratch resistant and it is more scratch resistant than titanium, but

not quite as hard as tungsten.  Cobalt bands will not chip or crack.  It is light-weight

and hypoallergenic metal.

Lifetime Sizing Policy for Rings/Bands

Chisel provides a Lifetime sizing policy for all Chisel Rings.  A CHARGE applies

each time the ring is returned for an exchange (return shipping included) and those

deductibles are listed below.  We have the right to refuse to replace the ring if it has

been altered in any way, including:  engraving, soldering, sizing, polishing, ultra

sonic cleaning, steaming and other obvious signs of abuse to the ring will

VOID the guarantee.  The SIZING POLICY is just for the customer to return a ring and

exchange it for another size if they loose or gain weight, and that is because the rings are 

NOT sizable. The policy is NOT meant to cover breaks or damage.  Rings will be

exchanged for the exact ring being returned unless the style is no longer available. 

In the case your ring cannot be exchanged due to market availability, we will exchange

it for a ring that closely matches the original band.

Ring Sizes

It is recommended that you get sized professionally by your local jeweler or

salesperson to reduce the chance of ordering an incorrect size band.  Some  

Tungsten Bands may run a half size larger, Titanium or Stainless Steel

bands may also run a half-size larger than your normal ring size. EXCHANGES

for sizes are Lifetime (see above deductibles) after the purchase from

GoldenExp.com under normal conditions.  Any item that has a manufact-

uring defect will be exchanged at anytime within 4 business days. 

To execute the exchange, the ring must be returned within an appropriate

amount of time.
